LPC Partnership Program

Cultivate Power

In the final stage of our civic media design process, we Cultivate. This is where we help our new civic media partners build their power as part of a 3-year commitment.

We start by asking them what they need to sustain their work. Then we create a tailored coaching program.

We bring them into our Collective, which is a growing, nationwide network of civic media leaders.

We also work with our partners to invest in their communities via programming such as media literacy workshops, reporting fellowships, and local events. These engagements help ensure that community members feel included and invested in their local information ecosystem.

Socialized Media

In line with the Listening Post Collective’s values of meeting people where they’re at and creating equitable spaces for people to get and share information, we wanted to share examples from our work, and outline ways to make social media a healthy and effective news and information space.
